Grants
Although modest in its resources the Weil foundation makes
grants to various other chartable organzations that work to
ameliorate child abuse. With the exception of a few
organizations very closely linked with the Drs. Weil themselves,
the foundation makes grants exclusively to organizations that:
- Are in the immediate vacinity of Boston, e.g., within
route 128.
- Are judged by their peer organizations to be of the very
highest quality.
- Provide direct services that either treat the problems
caused by child abuse or prevent child abuse.
- Provide services predominantly to children under the age of 10.
- Pursue a long-term therapeutic approach.
- Take steps to evaluate the effectiveness of what they
do.
- Are in a situation where a modest grant of at most a few
tens of thousands of dollars can make a big difference.
There being many more organizations that fit the criterea
above than can possibly be funded by the Weil Foundation, the
board of the Weil Foundation makes its grant decisions based on
which organizations in their sole opinion best carry on the
tradition of the work of the Drs. Weil. (The Foundation is not
currently accepting any unsolicited proposals.)
The following lists the organizations that have received grants from
the Weil Foundation.
